Roadtrip on the horizon

Husband and I are getting geared up to live the dream.  We are going on a long road trip into the depths of the midwest and we don't know when we'll be returning.  Ok,we sort of know.  We'll probably be gone for a month or so.

We will be taking a cooler stocked with food so that I can eat every 3 or so hours.  I will be wearing one of the 2 maternity skirts I have made of flowy, soft jersey cotton.  He will be the main driver to allow for my regular nap times.  And we're going to drive straight through on the way there.

Upon arrival, we will emulate the treasure seeking American Pickers.  We will uncover undiscovered finds in the backwoods of of my husband's home.  We will also attend some races that are widely popular with people that know about races.  My husband will drive his '76 Nova SS and probably pop my back when he romps on it.

And, on the way home, we will stop over in Colorado to visit my hubby's aunt in Denver.  And stay in her cabin for a few days at the back end of our trip.  It will be our babymoon.  Because, you know, we are having a baby.

T minus 9 days until blast off!

what ever happened to kansas?

so i realized recently that i never actually told about my kansas trip from almost 6 months ago. i still don't want to tell about it because i don't particularly care to go so far back into that long ago all with a bunch of words. so... here's a small collection of my favorite photos from the trip to tell a good story. if a picture = 1000 words, i've done my duty. kansas, really...

so we're really going to kansas. really. we're leaving on friday. i have a list of things i need to purchase as to accomodate our trip. i don't believe we have room for a cooler, but i think a small insulated lunch box would be in order. i'll add in an ice pack and we'll be set for our cheese sticks and hummus dip. gary and danny don't know about the cheese sticks and hummus, but they will be excited. on to more interesting news...

we should be gone a few weeks, i believe. we're driving straight through. we'll be in belleville (pop. 1,864) as well as kansas city (pop. 1,776,062). we've got the best of both worlds.

i'll get to see ihop (international house of prayer) and where my honey grew up.

i'll keep you posted... (blog pun intended, oh yeah!)

why i haven't called you back lately...

the reason i've not called you back lately is b/c i'm working full time again. you wouldn't know it by the fact that i'm blogging during business hours on a weekday, but i really am working. seriously. i'm temping @ an agency in town as a receptionist. sometimes i have tons to do and sometimes i have nothing. doesn't that sound a bit like my life right now??? so from 8-5pm minus lunch breaks, i am predominantly unavailable. however, if you live in the area and you'd like to have a lunch date, i could make that happen. (-;

i'm also exceptionally busy b/c, as stated in my most previous blogs, i am getting things up and running for the holiday season. i'm arranging some marketing materials as well as some new techniques. i am, yes again, revamping my website. if you've not already realized it, i am a lover of the trial and error method and thus much of my life consists of said method. i wouldn't have it any other way. so back to the website. you will now find the shopping link very useful on www.chrystalynjewelry.com. the page itself features a feed that allows the most recently uploaded pieces from my etsy site to be showcased. you click the link and you're ready to go! you'll also notice a few new links as such as custom, testimonial, & bridal. the testimonial link is all about customer appreciation. there will be photos of clients in their pieces as well as quotes. the custom section is an invitation to design w/ chrystalyn jewelry and also makes reference to repair work. and finally, the blog page is an actual page rather than a link to a page. w/out leaving the site, you have access to the most recent jewelry blogs @ your disposal.

alright, enough jewelry plugs for now. i am also excited to say that i'm going to be rockin' it roadtrip style to kansas in a few weeks. the dates, @ this point and b/c of my job, look like i'll be gone the 2nd & 3rd week or so of october. not only have i never been to kc, i've also never been to ihop (international house of prayer). i'm going to be going w/ danny and his dad, gary. woohoo. this should be interesting. apparently, we'll sort of be touring the state. we'll be visiting a few small towns, one of which danny grew up in, as well as kansas city itself.

continue to watch for details about events where chrystalyn jewelry will be appearing. one already confirmed is redding's november holiday shophop. on saturday, november 15 from 10am to 7pm, i'll be out @ monica's vintage inspired on athens showcasing my ingenious ornaments & wine charms. please come out and help us jumpstart the coming holiday season!!!

love and miss,
chrystal
