SE Texas

We went to visit my dad, stepmom, and sis this weekend in southeast Texas.  We had such a good time.  As usual, my dad grilled fish and shrimp the size of an egg.  Surprisingly, we even talked him into accompanying us to a family day out to Galveston.

Though it was dang hot, but we had a fabulous time.   The highlight of the day was when a seagull pooped on the back of my shirt.  I've now been pooped on 4 times by a bird in my lifetime.  In some cultures, its a sign of luck.

Daniel's favorite part was the old submarine that we toured from WWII.  I'm not sure who geeked out more... my husband or my dad. (-;

Relocating

As you probably already know, my husband and I and baby to come have relocated to the Paris of the Midwest... Kansas City!  We are currently staying with friends as we find a place that we like.  Daniel will be looking for a job too.  I may do so as well, but it will be harder for me as I'm pregnant.

On a similar note, we are making our way down to Texas this next week to clean out my storage unit.  We'll be selling a totally glamorous red velvet couch with claw feet, a huge queen size poster princess bed with almost new mattresses, an antique dining set with 6 chairs (upholstered with a completely retro Missoni style graphic fabric), some little rustic side tables and chairs, and glassware & dishes.  Also, I made a note of our tentative itinerary on Facebook so feel free to check it out to see if we can cross paths.

We are so excited to be living back in the central time zone and we can't wait to see you!

Deactivating Items

In my shop, I have many items that are made to order.  In fact, I might even say that 2/3 of my shop items are made to order.  This is a good thing in that I don't have tons of pre-made inventory lying around all over the place.  But, it makes it very hard to manage a shop long distance unless I want to tote all of my supplies with me when I go out of town.

And out of town I am going.  My husband and I are departing for a month long road trip to the midwest (his home) in 9 days.  While we are gone, I will still have ready to wear items listed and available for purchase.  But, as stated above, about 2/3 of my shop will be out out of commission until early to mid September.

The made to order items will be available until July 29th to allow a few days for me to crank out a few more orders before I depart.  All items that are ready to wear will ship normally with about a 2 business day lead time for processing (aka finding a post office in the middle of nowhere).

And I'm still offering free shipping for summertime.  So, you have no excuse to get a little something sweet for your self now! SHOP NOW...

posting, oh, posting.

i think i have a hard time updating my blog sometimes. i think it may have to do w/ the fact that i can get my jewelry blog to feed over to my social media sites but can't figure out to how to get this one. it makes me uninspired to think i'll have to copy and paste. oh, the horror. anyway, i'm going to do a bad thing and backblog. it's sort of like being backlogged on blogging. yes, that's what it is. so i guess i should post about my texas trip. i wonder if i can remember anything but the shining faces i saw there. oh yes, i weight about 5 pounds more because of that beautiful trip. (-;

watch for it.

i am going to do my best to see as many of your as possible. one thing that will help me is if you make an effort to attend one of my fun dinners tues 3/17 or thurs 3/19. oh, how i've missed black bean dip and quail! oh, how i’ve missed quaint patios w/ mild non-rainy weather!

note, we're still looking for a place to stay in longview as well as on the trip back and forth to and from dallas. we'd ideally love to land in arizona for a night on the way to and from texas b/c it's a pretty good midway point. even still, we're open. i feel a tad weird about asking for a hookup and i know we could just get a hotel, but it took a miracle of god to get us on this trip. you have no idea how much we’d appreciate it...

love you all and can't wait to see you, catch up, have a nice drink, and laugh a little. and i know that danny looks forward to meeting all of you!

much love...

what ever happened to kansas?

so i realized recently that i never actually told about my kansas trip from almost 6 months ago. i still don't want to tell about it because i don't particularly care to go so far back into that long ago all with a bunch of words. so... here's a small collection of my favorite photos from the trip to tell a good story. if a picture = 1000 words, i've done my duty. kansas, really...

so we're really going to kansas. really. we're leaving on friday. i have a list of things i need to purchase as to accomodate our trip. i don't believe we have room for a cooler, but i think a small insulated lunch box would be in order. i'll add in an ice pack and we'll be set for our cheese sticks and hummus dip. gary and danny don't know about the cheese sticks and hummus, but they will be excited. on to more interesting news...

we should be gone a few weeks, i believe. we're driving straight through. we'll be in belleville (pop. 1,864) as well as kansas city (pop. 1,776,062). we've got the best of both worlds.

i'll get to see ihop (international house of prayer) and where my honey grew up.

i'll keep you posted... (blog pun intended, oh yeah!)

san francisco & thanks!

i'm psyched that i got to finally see san fran!!! i had been praying 2 things all this month.

the first was that i'd be able to drive again by spring break. the other was that i'd be able to go, @ least for the day, out of town on a roadtrip so it would actually feel like spring break. both have come true. i'm finally driving again, thank god!!! then god just connected me w/ an amazing friend that invited me to join her on her daytrip to san fran earlier today (all expenses paid, yo!). it was great. see???

feel free to check the rest of the photos of the day @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/chrystalyn/ and check out today's date. you'll also find a comprehensive album of pretty much everything i've photographically documented since i came here. you'll see good friends, the honey, roadtrips, and holidays.

while i'm @ it, i just want to thank everyone that's contributed financially so that i can get to my next place. it's SO appreciated. and honestly, your contributions have completely shifted the way i view god. thanks again for being a part of what god is doing in me to break off that poverty spirit. i am much obliged.
